An Arcade That Survived The 80’s

Hear the sounds of Pinball Pete’s

Pinball Pete’s, Ann Arbor, MI

The rise of home consoles have created a competitive atmosphere in the gaming world. Arcades seem to be a trend of the past as home video games push many of these retro arcades out of business. However, Pinball Pete’s has found it’s niche in lively college towns. Most arcades these days have to find a balance in-between an old school arcade vibe and the modernization of video games. The two locations of Pinball Pete’s are the last remaining arcades in Southeast Michigan with locations in East Lansing and Ann Arbor. Every inch of the entrance to their ann arbor location is covered with enticing neon lights, which serves as a great attention grabber in a millennial city. However, when you enter you’ll see people of all ages enjoying what seems to be endless choices of games. Pinball Pete’s has been around for three decades now, and at one point had four locations in downtown Ann Arbor during its golden era – the early 1990’s. Although a bit downsized, the retro ambiance of Pinball Pete’s still serves as a hangout spot for many, bringing together the regulars and newcomers every night.
